Monitor on "power save mode"

I unplugged my computer and moved it onto a new desk. Plugged everything back up, now the monior gets thrown into 'power save mode' telling me to press a key or move the mouse after windows loads (but I can see the bios load up). If I press a key or move the mouse, nothing happens. I don't think its a monitor problem, its a windows problem. Heres what I've done so far:

1) switched to analog input (no help)
2) started in safe mode - it didn't go into 'power save mode', so I did two things in safe mode - a) checked the power save settings (set to come on in 15 minutes) and b) deleted the last windows update that i did yesterday before all this weirdness (no help)
3) cleared cmos (no help)
4) reseated the video card (no help)

does anybody have anything? Thanks in advance

Re-install your video card drivers from Safe Mode. When in safe mode, it's using generic drivers. When you boot into regular Windows, it's using your gc drivers. Since it works in Safe Mode and not when you regular boot, it sounds like a driver issue. If that doesn't work, you may also want to check your heat on that sucker... Though it would be highly unlikely, it is possible that the card is overheating in Windows (probably only if you're on the surface of the sun).

hmmm thanks for the help Herm... I ended up doing a fresh install of Windows and that fixed whatever the problem was. Weird how it would do that.
