Hi everyone,

I just recently got a new monitor (Soyo 24" deal at OfficeMax) and my issue is that it's not showing the bootup process when it's connected with the DVI cable. It's basically "asleep" until I reach the Windows XP logon screen, at which point it wakes up. I've tried connecting it using the VGA cable and it shows the BIOS screens and Windows startup process . My old monitor was only VGA compatible, so this is my first time using DVI. I thought the problem may be the mobo and thought about upgrading the BIOS, but the revision notes don't mention anything about displays. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

-Specs-
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2700+
RAM: 2x1GB DDR RAM
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-7VT600 1394
Video: ATI Radeon X800 XT PE
HD: Maxtor 80 GB SATA

I don't think that there is anything you can do about it. The primary output is hardware set to VGA. You can try checking the manual to see if there's a jump that you can set.
