I recently upgraded my wife's 17" LCD monitor to a 22".

When she turns the monitor off and back on with the power button it says "no signal".

The only way to get it to pick up the signal again is to shutdown and restart.

I moved the 22" to my computer and it turns on and off just fine. (We have identical setups)

I also reconnected her old 17" back to her computer. It now also displays the "no signal" message when turned off and on with the power button. The 17" never did this in the five years she has used it, until I hooked up the 22"???

I also tried three different cables with no change.

Any suggestions?

Sorry it been a week but with school and working overtime I'm lucky to know which way the sky is facing.

I uninstalled her drivers and reinstalled the latest release. The monitor still gives the "no signal" message if turned OFF and back ON.

Its more than likely not the cable or drivers... what the heck would make it do this by simply switching monitors? Or even still do it when I plug the old one back in?? Strange...

Hum... I just thought, the only other thing that has changed is her resolution. The old resolution was (1280x1024). The native resolution of the new monitor is (1680x1050) which its set at now. When I get a chance later I will try and change the resolution back and then turn it on and off. If that works that I would sure be awful to look at a 22" monitor using (1280x1024)!!

I appreciate any suggestions

It should work perfectly at Native Res. Check your Power Options. Also, are you connected digitally or analog? What is your video card, and does it have manager software like ATI and NVIDIA do?
