Monitor madness

Hi,

I'm about to return my 2nd monitor in 4 weeks.

I started with an Acer (H2T24S or something).....then moved on to a samsung p2270. Both were 21.5 inches and murdered my eyes. (both were 1280x 1024 resolution)((computer wouldn't support 1080p))

Previously i was on a CRT (19 inch)(85 hz refresh..highest possible for me).....but had heard that LCD was much better for your eyes. (which have been a problem lately)

ANyways, The Acer i know had something called HiFRC and was a TN panel. (are all TN panels HiFRC?)

I know the samsung is a TN panel too......but cannot find any info if it also was a 6bit with HiFRC....

I'm not sure, but i think it could be the HiFRC that is giving my eyes trouble in the LCD Monitors.

I've adjusted the brightness and changed viewing angles and reduced glare in every possible way......i do eye rests and exercises and everything.....so it really is pretty much due to the monitor.

The CRT still bothers my eyes......that's why i went LCD....so i can't go back to CRT. That won't solve the problem.

But these 2 monitors have been worse and i'm tired of going back to the store every 2 weeks.

Has anyone had similar issues?

I've tried to talk to an optometrist about computer glasses....but they just look at me like i'm speaking spanish. "computer what?".........and the people at bestbuy and future shop don't even know what a tn panel is....they thought it was a brand of monitor. ANd i literally talked to everyone in the store....they were ZERO help.

What kind of monitor has worked best for you? Are all TN panel monitors using HiFRC? Do they even sell monitors that don't use TN panels anymore? (every store i've been to is all TFT TN panels)

Anyways.......any monitor/eye-care suggestions/feedback would be appreciated.

thank you

Your resolution was to low, you need to run native res or it will look fuzzy, funny, messed.

Hi,
the people at bestbuy and future shop don't even know what a tn panel is.

Spend less time in Best Buy. In addition to the fact that they don't have a clue, the undiffused florescent spotlights they use throughout the store are murder on your eyes.
