Monitor Keeps Blacking Out

My mointor blacks out for no apprent reason. When it blacks out I can get it to display again by turning the monitor off then on again, but when it comes on it comes on again for only a second then goes black again. The computer is working fine when it blacks out and I can shut down properly using keyborad shortcuts since I can't see the screen. When I reboot the display is fine again.

I've tried changing power settings and it didn't work. Temps also seem normal. Cables are secure.

My monitor and video card are less than a year old.

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon 9600XT Atlantis 256MB AGP 8x
MoBo: ASUS A7N8X-E REV 2.xx

I'm downloading driver updates as I type, hopefully that will fix it. Has his happened to anyone else?
 
Sounds like the monitor itself may be having issues. Your first step would probably be to try a differnet monitor on your current setup.
 
What's your Power Supply brand and wattage?
Can you switchout your video card?
Can you hookup another monitor?
Troubleshooting is a hit or miss situation. Hope this helps.
