Ok, here's the problem, and I can't isolate what the problem is. Whenever my monitor is above 60Hz, the whole screen kind of jiggles. Not flicker from low refresh, but the actual pixels move.
What I've tried:
1) New machine - With my Gateway EV700 monitor, I moved from a p2-350 machine to an AthlonXP machine. Same problem.
2) New Vid Card - Replaced my GF2MX with a new GF3 ti 200. Same problem.
3) Moving all electrical equip away. Speakers, force feedback gamepads, etc. All moved well away from monitor. Same Problem.
4) Replaced Monitor - Figured my EV700 was dying, so I just bought a new ViewSonic A90f 19" (which is VERY clear and crisp.) Above 60Hz, though, jiggling, rippling, etc. It's actually worse than the EV700 was in this respect at those refresh rates. At 60Hz, it's rock solid.
What could be the problem? The only thing I can think of is that there are power lines that run right outside my window, about 25 feet from the apartment. I can understand how that would affect a monitor, but wouldn't it affect it at 60Hz too? Oh...the monitor is also hooked up to an AVR UPS, so it's getting clean, consistent power. Oh...and it happens at all resolutions, but only above 60Hz. All resolutions@60Hz are fine.
Help.
