for about a month now my monitor has been acting up. The images sometimes are blurry and the focus into sharpness.... then blurry again, and the sharp, repeat.

Right now, the image is very jumpy. The whole screen is shaking and vibrating.

I've tried degaussing it, no help. I thought it was the surge protector doing a bad job regulating power, switched surge protectors, no help. I thought maybe its EMI on the monitor cable. I untangled the monitor wire, its by itself, straight connection to computer, no help. I thought it was the video card, but i tried another monitor and that works fine, but not this monitor....

What is it?!! Maybe my house's power is not "clean". I use to live somewhere else w/ the same monitor. It was perfectly fine. As soon i as moved back home, this crap happened. Or maybe it was the drive home that messed it up.

while just fiddling around, I turned off "Use DDC Information" under Monitor Properties and all seems well now. No more jumpiness.

if anyone else is having the same problem, i finally figured it out.

Turns out it was my PSU not giving enough juice. I figure that might be it when the monitor worked better on lower resolutions and refresh rates; it would be real jumpy and blurry the higher I go. Also, the random reboots i was getting tipped me off along w/ my hardware manager software which said my 12V rail was getting as low as 10.9Vs sometimes.

Upgraded my 300W Antec to 480 True Blue, all is good.

Your monitor, in case you hadn't noticed, is not plugged into your PSU. It may be that your *video card* was not getting enough juice, though.
