Monitor Help...

my mothers pc its a compaq the monitors model FS740 and its about 2 yrs old or so and she left it the other day just walked away and the monitor went to sleep. now it won't wake up, the keyboard does not respond to anything and neither does the mouse. the monitor is just blinking its one little green led light by the power button over and over. it does this if you unplug the monitor... it does thsi if you restart the pc you can't even access the menu's on the monitor if you hit the buttons to try and see the menu.

i took the monitor and attempted to use it on my pc to rule out the video card as my pc is fine and the monitor still doesn't work it just blinks green over and over and over. anybody know why this happens or how to fix it?

edit: i just took her pc and plugged my monitor in to rule out the graphics card and it worked perfectly nothing went wrong so im assuming this is directly monitor related...

just opened it up and checked the fuse, fuse was good. still same problems upon re-assembly :/ - it was rather dusty...(cigarettes are disguisting)

okay, i gave up! its trash. im calling garbage men to see what they do with this kinda stuff.
