Monitor Glare Coating?

My new monitor seems to have a little scartch on the screen where the anti-glare coating was rubbed off. The actual monitor is fine, but it is very annoying and no amount of buffing will get it out. If I somehow windexed my screen and got rid of the coating, then re apply it somehow. Is this in any way possible, or did I already ruin my chance of having a nice glare free monitor?

I did the same to my expensive iiyama :| I spoke to their tech support (an engineer who knew what he was talking about) and he said the coating is only factory applicable. The entire tube needs replacing, a job only the OEM can perform. The best you can do is to leave it alone and live with it - you'll soon learn to ignore it if you know it won't be replaced anytime soon 😉

I buffed it a lot. Now it seems ok, tho a little more glare. For $325, I am not replacing my monitor anytime soon. Its okay though, the picture still rules.
