I just got a samsung 204B as a secondary HTPC monitor, and had it hooked up using Analog for a week without issue, I just moved from analog to digital and now it filckers on and off randomly as if lossing singal (yet windows does not seem to notice this). Also there are specks on the screen much like over clocked video cards will get, but I've seen none of this with the analog connection. I've tried 2 cards on the card now without a solution (both from monoprice and both 24AU) so I do not think it is the cables. But before I RMA the monitor as bad I wanted to get some opinions.
OS: Windows XP x64
What I've tried what I see:
Nvidia GeForc 7800GTX:
strock cable, monoprice 24AU cable 15ft: both fine
x1800xl:
stock cable, monoprice 24AU cable 15ft: both bad
Video drivers 6.7, 6.8, 6.9: all bad but 6.9 seemed the worst
Restored backup of 6.8: Swapped outputs on card: both bad
Changed to 1280x1024 resolution (native is 1600x1200), both cables: fine
If I use alternitive mode and low bandwidtch from the ATI conrtol center then the monitor works, however then the sysetm does not boot up (crashes with a bluescreen everytime I attempt to initialize the video drivers. (6.7, 6.8, and 6.9 all the same)
So here is the new question is this a problem with LCD monitors and ATI x1X00's or is it just this monitor?, remember it works fine in analog mode, but not digital.
