Monitor - Eye strain

I've recently built a gaming rig and installed windows 8.1. Text is a little fuzzy/blurry and really puts strain on my eyes which gives me a headache.
specs
powercolor radeon r9 270
power supply VS550
I have tried the following
different monitor.
cleartype
Amd catalyst settings
changing scale options
different monitor port hdmi/dvi
resetting whole computer
changing monitor brightness
changing gamma
Using the Intel integrated graphics
changing resolution
changing refresh rate
I don't know what else it could be, My other computer with windows 7 works perfectly fine with the monitors. Someone please help me 🙁

it is a different rendering engine in windows 8 and now carried over to windows 10. it is shit.
