I posted a weekor so ago, and i can't find it to continue, but Basically when i boot the pc, the monitor doesn't come out of power save. I have to turn the monitor off and on again to get it to "catch" so the posting messages show up and then all is ok.
I have had low resolution error messages once or twice after boot, and some kind of error restore message also. but nothing usually. I have left the system on 24/7 for like a week now, and all seems just fine while running.

my question is, would a guy start by replacing the video card? or the power supply?
(I already ordered a new vid card but research has me thinking maybe the power supply is the culprit?) Memory? The motherboard looks clean, no leaking capacitors or such....
system does seem to post just fine, so I'm doubting a HDD problem

Thanks!

I would test this monitor on another system or use a different monitor on your system to kinda pinpoint the problem. Also, have you tried different video card drivers? Sometimes an older driver will work and the newest will not.

yes, I have tried updating my vid card drivers...
didn't seem to help at all. and the problem didn't start after any new installation (hardware or software). I'd have to drag the monitor to another location to test.

I used to have similar problems intermittantly with my monitor, and I chaulked it up to the video card.

To me, I wouldn't worry unless you want to upgrade your video card anyways (it'll cost some money to get another with dual-dvi and vivo if you need those features). Alternatively, you could try to find a driver for your monitor, update your chipset drivers, or even update your bios.
