Monitor delay when changing resolutions

I used to own a 19" CRT monitor and I hated how it would go black for about 2-3 seconds when changing from one resolution to another. I recently bought an HP LCD screen and it still does the same thing. I know it's not my video card, because I've had about 3-4 in the last 3 years.

Most other monitors I see switch between the modes almost instantly.
Is there a setting on the monitor that I can change to make it change faster? Or are there specific brands that do this?

Thanks,

Nope, nothing you can do. Some just switch faster than others.

I have a 19" Lacie Electron Blue that looks great, but takes a long time to warm up and switch modes. My 19" Samsung doesn't look quite as good, but switches faster...
