Monitor configuration for the Radeon HD 5670 and 5750?

Very simple questions:

I see the 5670 comes with 1 HDMI, 1 DVI and 1 DisplayPort. Can I connect a monitor to each port at the same time for triple monitors?

The 5750 comes with 1 HDMI, 2 DVI and 1 DisplayPort. Could I actually connect 4 monitors simultaneously?

Thanks!

i'm assuming for the 5670 you can do triple monitors... as for the 5750, you can do triple monitors max and one of them has to be displayport.

So for the 5750, you can do: 2 DVI + 1 DisplayPort, 1 DVI + 1 HDMI + 1 DisplayPort, but not 2 DVI + 1 HDMI, is this correct?

And if you are using DP, then you need either a DP monitor or a qualified DP adapter (ATI has a list on their website IIRC of qualified DP adapters).

Basically it's exactly the same as the HD58xx cards.

Can the 5570 with 1 VGA, 1 HDMI, 1 DVI do triple monitors?

No I would think the hdmi would turn off the other dvi port but I could be wrong.

Also am using 3 on my 5770 no problems 2 on the dvi other on the display port.

So if I want a 5xxx series Radeon and at least two monitors on DVI/HDMI, than I have to go with 56xxx or higher. Is this statement correct?

It depends on the implementation of the various AIBs. Best bet is to pick a board and check the manufacturer's page to confirm compatibility.

And don't forget, if you to run more than 2 monitors, you will need an active adapter for DP. (if you don't have a DP monitor)

I'm thinking ahead a couple years. I'd like dual-monitors short-term, with a 3rd possible in the next few years. My hope is, by the time I want/need a third monitor, DP's monitors will be as common as HDMI is now. $100 for a active adapter is outrageous.
