Monitor Burn In

I thought this was a thing of the past, no more need to worry about screen savers, but recently I started noticing a slight pink tinge smeared on the inside of my screen. I had no idea what it was but it kept getting worse. THen last night I finally saw it, it's the image from my desktop burning into the screen.

Is there anything I can do to reverse it or am I just screwed?

And seriously, isn't this somehting we aren't supposed to have to worry about anymore?

I've gone through many monitors and this is the first time I've had this happen. I have never had a screensaver.

screen burn in still exists - it just take a little longer now. I don't know of anything you can do to reverse it. I never use a screen savers, but I do usually set the Energy Power Saver settings to shut down the monitor after 20 minutes of non-use.
