This is what I think is going on...Since I have followed another thread (Palm VII) posted by NeoV a couple weeks ago.

These prices are the actual price changes for clearance items that are "going" to be downloaded from corporate HQ to the OfficeMax Store computer systems. (Prices usually go in effect Saturday's but could take longer if the computer network is down or slow)

The original poster "NeoV" is nice enough to give the heads up to us here. So don't expect to walk in and find these items "marked down" with price tags or anything.

The store register should have the "new" price when the cashier scans the item...

Personally, I picked up a Palm VII unit last time Neo posted this type of info...I actually bought the unit on a Friday night for full price $229.00 ... then returned on Saturday Morning and asked politely for a price check...a second later the clerk's eyes lit up in surprise as he said "the price is now $99.00!!" and he kindly gave me a refund for the difference I paid.

Thanks Neo V .. I am off to my nearest OMX to see if they have anything good!!

Just picked up the 15" TFT and the 19" PX-982....will return on Monday for price credit.....Thanks a million Neo V!!!!.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They had 3 of the 19" monitors....Neo V' inventory showed 1 in stock, so as someone else said....check the stores that aren't on the list...you may get lucky.....manager who helped me said he knew about the cuts coming...he said he picked up one of the TFT's when they went down to 299.00....the TFT WAS NOT on display...I had to ask....he said he saw one in the back a couple of weeks ago with a hold on it....he said if it was still there he would sell it to me.....YES! It was....I will probably pick up another of the 19" if he still has them come Monday....also....sold me the 2 year warranty...manager said it was a good deal....they aren't making the model anymore and you would get whatever was on the market at the time of breakage...couldn't resist for 40.00.....we all know how you will lose a pixel or 2 with TFT....

Hey, NeoV, can you just order stuff through your store? If something is in stock somewhere else, can you transfer stock?

Just a thought... I'm sure someone else has already thought of that, so I guess you can't. Cause that would make things a lot easier... these stores are all telling me that all their computer sales are through Gateway.

I bought the 19" mirage monitor today the model was PX-986 its sku number matched the sku number given for the PX-9825. Hopefully this is the right one otherwise I will have to return it. Thanks NeoV for letting us in on the deal.

If you buy the 19"er today for $299 + tax
and then you go back to adjust the price do you get the extra money you spend on tax back?

Well, I went over to my local Office Max and they only carried four different monitors. The only one on this sale list was a MV520 15" and it was a floor model. :(

I needed some cdr blanks anyway. The 50-pk spindle of 80min Imation cdr's for $14.99 was the hottest deal that store had! ;)

Sure wish I coulda found one of those TFT's....

No TFT's at The Woodlands, Willowbrook or College Station, or so they all claim. Out of the other monitors, what is the best value? Doesnt matter to me if its 15" or 17", just looking for one to hook up to my linux box for cheap.

I am going to try to get one of the TFT monitors if I can. Does anyone know if these are any good for gaming? I will also pick up a few of the other cheapo ones to egay and see if I can get enough money to pay for a TFT. Yeah I know it's a cheap thing to do but I don't have much money.

Me and some coworkers went to 3 different OM's today in the Dallas area (one on 15th street and 75 in Plano, 1 on Campbell and 75 in Richardson and the one on Preston across from Valley View Mall). There were plenty of the PX-986's 19", but no 982's. I asked one kid to look up the SKU of the 986, and it was DIFFERENT than the SKU listed here. Only monitors I found were the Compaq 520's and the HP M70's.

I suppose I'll go back tomorrow and confirm the PX-986 is still $299.

BrtSpears - What exactly did you mean they were BSing you? I called a location 2 hours away and I suspect they are lying to me too since Neo's list stated there was 1 in stock and they said they haven't sold any computer stuff for months! I certainly am not going to make the 2 hour trip to find out. :(
