Monitor Aquarium!?!

Those are easy to make if you have an old monitor.

My roomate used a 40 gallon tank and put it in an old Tv frame. It was very cool.

hmmm, $90 for a 2-gallon aquarium doesn't seem that incredibly hot to me. 😉

<edit>
from the title, I thought maybe the item was gonna be some cool device that allowed you to monitor the conditions in your aquarium. You know, some USB-compatible device that you stick in the tank, with software that can show you on your PC: water temp, pH, oxygen content.... 😉
</edit>

Best thing to do, if you can still find one, is get an old 1950's or '60's console TV, remove the guts, and put the aquarium in there. Far cheaper and definately cooler.

Hey, that sounds 😎 does such a thing exist?

Hehe, I've seen these before. Laughed at the very first one I saw. The original MAC SE being used as an aquarium. 🙂

that sachs serenescreen is really nice. you have to have a good monitor and video card for the resolution and motion to be smooth.

haha ive got a macquarim!!!! i love it

at work i have an old blender that i turned into an aquarium too...

this deal isnt that hot to me, you can make one that will probably be just as cool for less i bed... mine cost me $100 AND i got to have fun ripping the guts outta the mac!

Heheh....maybe I'll make one from a 15" LCD monitor I have lying around....or for a real challenge, a laptop LCD! 🙂

heheh

the goodwill computer shop here sells those old macs just for aquariums. my roommate tried to make some. they always leaked.

Souka: You'd better get some really flat fish if you hope to pull that off! They'll be able to go one way in the tank, but they'll be incapable of turning around, poor things.

asSpenKy: My thoughts exactly. If I see an abandoned broken iMac in the trash one day, I won't hesitate one second to pick it up heheh...

<< I've got a couple dead 15" monitors just eating up space in my garage. Anyone have any advice on how to turn them into aquariums? 🙂 >>

How about you pop off the plastic case, toss the dead CRT at the dump and glue some pieces of glass together and slap 'em in the empty case?

i always thought an imac will make a better fish tank than a actual computer. even when it first came out... it is too damn slow
