Monitor and Television question

Hello,

I'm looking to use either a flat screen television or a computer monitor with a large screen to make working with blueprints easier. I view the blueprints on my computer, but my monitor is too small. I'm trying to figure out if going with a television with VGA input or a computer monitor. Which provides the best resolution and allows me to constrain 4:3 proportions, as I need to maintain proper blueprint proportions? What kind of brand would be best to go with? Looking to stay within 3 to 400 price range and to have over 24 inch diagonal length.

i think a flat screen television is going to be blurry around the details of the blueprints. Are the blueprints architectural or mechanical. Either way you would still have to zoom in to see the details accurately. A widescreen monitor is not going to stretch the blueprint and make it's dimensions any different.

maybe you should be looking at a dual moitor setup.

Oops, I meant LCD or plasma television.

So which gives me the best bang for the buck? LCD/Plasma television or monitor? I already have one LCD monitor which is small. Would getting another LCD monitor allow me to go dual and solve the problem?

you wont be finding a good plasma at that budget. I would go with a standard high resolution computer monitor (at least 1600x1200). If you get widescreen, 1920x1200. Going dual screens depends on your graphics card and whether it has dual outputs or not.
