Monitor affects network connection speed!

Hey there, whenever I switch off my monitor my network connection increases to over 25 Mb/sec, however, when I turn it back on it goes down to ~5 Mb/sec. (I was testing the connection speed in both conditions).
This made me confused because I thought the monitor has nothing to do with the internet, my friend told me that the monitor might be throwing noise down the AC line, but I don't know what he meant.
(I'm connected through electricity (2 power lines)).
Thank you for your time!

If you are talking about powerline ethernet adapters, it can happen.

Your powerline adapter should plug into wall's electric socket directly.

Plug in all other computing devices into a power strip with noise filter migh help.

Powerline adapter speed can be affected by a lot of electric devices on the power line. Power drill, juicer, microwave oven, and in your case - the monitor, etc.

If you put your monitor on a UPS battery backup unit that might alleviate the issue, but realistically you want power line adapters to be as isolated from other high power devices as possible to avoid interference.
