i just skimmed the first few posts and didnt see it. i would reccomend the 26 or 30 inch panels from doublesight. unfortunatley it seems newegg isnt stocking the 26 inch panel yet. both panels are IPS panels and the input lag on them is susposed to be just above TN panels of the same size. if you check doublesights websight they have a list of all their online resellers and they had the 26 inch panels listed as on order at several sites last i checked, which was over a week ago. the 26 inch panel goes for about $720 average, and the 30 inch one is listed on newegg for $1050, making it the cheapest 30 inch panel on market, despite the high grade panel used in making it. the story is the same for the 26 incher to the same extent, and the model which was out before it was extremely popular on anandtech

this warrants its own post. DO NOT GET THE XHD3000!!!! it has one of the worst input lags of any 3( inch panel, as do most other PVA panels. i tested the XHD3000 myself at frys when they were trying to sell it with one of their gaming rigs and after half an hour with a sales rep testing it they actually swapped it for a new out of box dell 30 incher, since games were practically unplayable on it even at its native, and it was an embarassment to the computers ability. i should also note that this was 2 months before the doublesight 30 inch panel launched, at which time the XHD3000 was the cheapest 30 inc on the market, at about $1400, or $350 more than the doublesight

thanks for the posts I'm looking at everything.

In that case, get a 26" Planar PX2611W or Doublesight DS-263N or DS-265W. 26" IPS, less than a frame of lag, wide gamut, not much more $ than a good 24" VA, and 1920x1200 but at a reasonable pixel pitch instead of the make-my-eyes-bleed 24" pitch. There's no reason to even shop for anything else.

whats the difference between the PX2611W and the DS-265 W? I see that DS-265W has HDMI and planar doesn't.

I don't know because its not out yet, and the specs aren't up on their website yet. The only thing I do know is they use the same panel, and the 265 comes with internal speakers while the Planar doesn't. I own the Planar, and have been very happy with it, and the warranty is the best in the business: 3 years, advanced replacement (you get the new one before you have to ship the old one) within 48 hours, and they pay shipping.

Either one of them is better than any 24" you can get except the NEC 2490.
