Monday Night Football Double Header!!!!

Not for those of us that have jerbs on the east coast but I will be watching the 1st one.

How dare you call yourself a football fan if you can't park yourself in front of the idiot box for 7-8 hours! Everyone knows sleep is overrated. It just means you have less time to live before you die. Spend that time wisely. Watch more football.

We have a week 1 thread for week 1 football discussions. You aren't new around here either so I'm sure you know that. Having all of these one off threads for different games is kinda dumb.

I really hate mega threads and this is a thread to watch and discuss the MNF games. Also this forum needs some life. It's pretty empty now.

It's not a "mega thread" there are like 4 pages of posts. And there are no other games going on tonight when these games are on, so it will be a MNF thread during those games, as it always is every week.

Did that yesterday. Was pretty happy since I am both a Vikings and Patriots fan. None of these teams tonight really interest me that much. Only thing I would root for is that the Saints lose, and Brees gets knocked around to make up for all the cheap shots the Saints have dished out over the years. Yea, still bitter about bounty gate and the beating they gave Brett Farve in the playoff game when he was with the Vikings. BTW, the blown PI call in the playoffs last year was sweet, sweet karma. Couldnt have happened to a more deserving team.

I don't get ESPN. So I'll probably find out how the first Broncos game of the year went on Tuesday. All their other games are on broadcast, for better or for worse.

Neither of those games are interesting. Not sure why you would feature an inter-conference matchup as your season kickoff game. Sure Brees and Watson are exciting, but the Texans and Saints have no team rivalry.

Does Amazon prime include MNF or am I thinking about something else?

Edit: A quick search shows it's just some of the Thur. night games.

espn already bailed on the yellow down and distance marker on their chyron, thank god

I did finally find a way to watch the game. It's free phone football! 🙂

Dammit...I had the Raiders/Donkeys game set to record, didn't realize the earlier game was on...been working outside all day. Looks like I missed a helluva game. The end of the Ain'ts/ Texans game was hella good.

Gruden after the game high fiving fans in the end zone was great

ESPN's shots of his facial expressions throughout the game were classic...

I would say the Raider's performance, especially Derek Carr/Tyrell Williams, is probably the biggest week 1 surprise...

our weekly football threads only go for about 2 or maybe 3 pages each week. It's a new one each week. Hardly mega threads. I agree that there is no reason to start extra football threads, especially because we already have an established standard to keep all weekly football games in the one official thread.

As the forum seems empty, especially with Mayne apparently going blind, maybe start making some other random garbage threads to help things out?

The broadcast in Denver was on the NBC affiliate's second channel for those without espn access. The Saints-Texans game was in the thrilling final moments when they suddenly switched to the Broncos telecast, (already in progress). So viewers missed the final field goal and the opening kickoff. 😡
