Monarch's fault or Fedex?

Haha, my friend ordered a A64 3000+ and MSI K8N Neo mobo package from them since it comes with about $70 dollars worth of free stuff, turns out when he got the package yesterday all his pins on the CPU where bent and the packaging inside the box was all ripped.

They are sending him another cpu overnight with a pre-paid envolope which isn't so bad.

EDIT- The box came like that, all shreaded up.

EDIT2- The shipping was originaly Fedex 3 day but it was Fedex 2 day, found that odd aswell.
 
Doesn't sound like its Monarch's fault. Those CPU's are sealed. I got money on it being USP/FedEx/DHL opened the package...destroyed it..and sent it on its way.
 
It was origianly supposed to be sent Fedex express but it was 2 day for some reason, I never had problems with fedex, they are better than UPS in my experiances since they get your package there 1 day early most of the time.
 
I'm pretty sure that was a shipping problem...there's no way that Monarch would have sent out a proc like that. I mean, they're a reputable company with a reputation to uphold.

Fedex is, IMO, by far the worst shipping company in the US. I'd take UPS or DHL -- or, hell, even USPS Priority Mail -- over Fedex. I ordered a TiVo as a gift for someone, and they: 1) trashed the box (it arrived pretty badly torn up, with one corner smashed in), and 2) left it sitting in my friend's driveway without even ringing the doorbell (now, mind you, this is a TiVo in a marked neon-orange TiVo box, which anyone walking by might have just picked up and walked off with!) Fortunately nobody stole it and Circuit City happily exchanged it at a local store for a new, sealed unit... but this is apparently not atypical for Fedex. I don't care how quick the shipping is if I can't count on items actually being delivered in one piece, and UPS at least won't leave packages sitting on my doorstep unless I tell them to.

Every company has faults, especially shipping companies. While I respect your opinion, please keep in mind that UPS also 1) trashes boxes 2) leaves packages by your door w/out obtaining a signature.

As far as the OP is concerned it looks like a gerbil was in that box. 😉 Monarch is a very reputable company, and it shows by them overnightning a new cpu to you.

Well, I know none of them are perfect (in fact, USPS lost a piece of mail of mine just last week!), but I've had more issues with Fedex than any other shipper. By enough of a margin that I don't just think it's coincidence. However, I will admit that I can't tell if the issue is with Fedex at the organizational level, or if it's just the local delivery folks near where I live that are terrible. YMMV.

And UPS *always* leaves a note instead of just dropping my package on my doorstep if I'm not home (maybe this varies by region, or your driver is just slacking off). Fedex just leaves the boxes, which is a little disconcerting when I'm ordering stuff from Newegg that may cost hundreds of dollars. In fact, a couple of times I've been *home* and they just leave the boxes, without even ringing the bell.
 
Welcome to the Screwed By Fed Ex Club. I ordered my PSU modding equipment from FrozenCPU last Friday and I still don't have it yet. When I called them, they said that it was a damaged barcode label and so they had to send it all the way to Texas and I'll PROBABLY get it tomorrow...Saturday. That's 8 days folks although I spent $9.00 for 1-5 day shipping. When I asked for a refund, they tried to pin it on FrozenCPU.
 
When I got my Athlon 64 recently from GameVE they packaged it in the hard plastic that is made to hold multiple CPUs but just broke off a piece to send to me. Fine with me...seemed to be pretty durable. I don't think I've ever had issues with FedEx shipping. But I did have a case come from Newegg that got dented on the middle of the back right side. Just a minor visual problem and the mobo tray didn't slide right. But it was a cheapass case and I didn't care. Not sure if that was FedEx.

my friends box had a side that looked like someone kicked it in when fedex delivered his new egg order...dented his case, it was usable...but still....my boxes for my new new comp were in pretty good shape, but one had a tear in the side....I'm not sure why this always happens with fedex...never seems to happen anywhere else. Maybe because fed ex is all independent contractors perhaps? There's no real screening process.
 
I love FedEx because everything arrives to me in 1-2 days (no matter what type of shipping) because I'm so close to Memphis.

DHL on the other hand. WOAH. I just recently had a really bad problem with them. A driver even started talking really nasty to me on the phone. I was in a 3 way phone call with her and her supervisor because she delivered a $500 video card to the wrong house with a signature required. 🙁 She kept saying it was my house and that she would go back when she felt like it, but not right now. She hung up on us..cutting us all off. The supervisor called back and said he was sending her right back. Well another 2 hours later someone calls on their way. They told me to go find the house and get it..and they'd come and make me sign?? WTF is wrong with those people. They are complete and utter retards.

Not to mention she said she left it with a blonde lady. The person who got it had black hair and wasn't at home. It was still sitting on their porch untouched. Lucky me.

It sounds to me like Monach first upgraded your shipping free of charge (like they did for me once) and then shipped you a new CPU without you returning it first ! That sounds as good or better than newegg would do. You should change the title of this thread to soemthing like "Monarch has great customer service, even though I did get a damaged product"

And to baked, you are an ass...So he made a typo, the other comments ,and the reply were uncalled for.

My order from Monarch is in Indiana on way to upstate New York, according to Fed-Ex tracker.

Hopefully, the employees shipping my new rig are not drunk during their shift.



 
i hapened to work for 3 weeks for fedex... the package handling is terrible... nobody cares whats inside box fragile or not, it gets thrown like a football... i guess because they r such a huge company and they barely can handle it... they get the deadlines but not the quality part...
