Man, it seems like lots of people are having problems with Monarch. I ordered the evga 7800GT on the 25th. When I went to the sale page, there was a big "Call of Duty 2 free with Select Video Cards." There were three of the "select" 7800GTs on that page and the one I ordered was one of them. The page didn't say anything about any special requirements, and neither did the page where you actually ordered the card. I thought there was a possibility that COD2 would come in the box, like it did with the XFX 7800GT deal from ZZF at the same time. However, when the box arrived, there was no COD2 inside. So I got in touch with Monarch and they said, "Well, you get the COD2 when you register the card at evga." But evga had already announced that they didn't have any COD2 left. Problem is, this requirement wasn't announced on the Monarch webpage and there weren't any time limits or anything like that. I could have gotten virtually the same deal -- maybe $5 more -- at any number of places on 11/25 or on Black Friday. But I went with Monarch because lots of people seem to have good luck with them. I'm thinking about RMAing this or just sending it back and disputing the charge with my credit card company because it doesn't seem right to tell people they are going to get something and then AFTER they make the purchase, you tell them, "Oh, well you have to do this extra stuff to get the freebie and if some other company can't fulfill OUR advertising, well you are SOOL." I didn't purchase the card directly from evga -- I purchased it at Monarch and Monarch should fulfill their advertised offers -- or at least make it clear at the outset that there are special requirements. I'll tell you, I rarely order anything from anyplace other than Newegg and this just makes me think that I should have gone with the Egg in the first place. At least they are up-front about their offers and if THEY screw up, they ALWAYS make it right. At least that's my experience.

So, OCZ says to contact Monarch about the rebate/UPC, and Monarch says to contact OCZ about the rebate/OCZ...which means, you won't be getting a rebate. I see a credit card chargeback in my future on Monday...

(BTW, still don't have those emails I was supposed to expect within an hour...)

WTF is with you Monarch??? They have a forum at their site, I urge everyone to take action there. I registered and have voiced my displeasure over there before. They pulled similiar crap with me. Item showed in stock, I ordered, they immediately charged my card and then put me on backorder. I am totally convinced they are biting off more than they can chew. HIRE SOME DAMN PEOPLE MONARCH, ESPECIALLY IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. And buy the book "HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE". When reports get better on them, they may get some of my green, but for now, I won't touch them with a 10 foot pole....

Ok, just for fairness, I sent another email to MonarchJoe saying I was going to chargeback by the end of business today, and DID get a response and Microsoft Word Invoice from him. Still waiting on an OCZ answer.

I ordered a Power Supply and OS on the 28th that hasn't shipped yet. I was hoping to put together a new build this past weekend (had everything but the PS). I'd like to be able to do something this weekend. If I don't hear anything in the next day or so, I think I'll do a chargeback and order elsewhere so I can have one by the weekend.

As an update on my order, I still haven't got a tracking number. I called last Friday and they said "It should ship out on Monday." I called Again Monday and they said "It should ship today." I called Wednesday and they said "It should ship tomorrow."
The hold up is that I bought 4 sticks of ram and apparently they only had 3 in their warehouse. They've said "it looks like the ram should be here today." every time I've called.
This is the biggest bunch of crap I've ever seen. Though one helpful guy I spoke with did bump my shipping from ground to 2 day so that was pretty nice.

Just so everyone remembers the OCZ rebate is now defunct...if you haven't gotten it in yet you might wanna call and have that "removed" from your order

(It had to be postmarked today and most are finished with pickups for the day)

Have a MAJOR complaint!

I ordered on 12/2 for 7 parts including a P4C800-E Deluxe on their Sale/Close out page. The next day I discovered that the same parts number linked to a REFURBISHED board.

Emailed Monarch this...

====================================================
Hi,

Would like to know if my order below has been processed.

I placed my order on Monday and it'll be Thursday tomorrow making it 3 days without a notice of the order status (I'm not ordering anything that needed testing or assembly -- and I live less than 200 miles from Atlanta!). At this rate I won't recieve the parts until Monday (as they don't deliver on the weekend).

Furthermore, I didn't realize the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboards on your site are also refurbished (my order number is the same as the refurbished ones being sold). Ordered that board as it was a close out (as it was advertized on the Sales/Close out page, and it listed the contents as OEM retail box, not what's listed now). I specifically ordered that board because it came with the accessories.

Will I be ensured that that motherboard is in fact not refurbished and all of the accessories are included (cables/manual/cd/game-midi port, etc)? If not, yes, I want my order cancelled as I don't buy refurbished parts.

If this order isn't processed by tomorrow with a non refurbished motherboard, I want it cancelled, as it's a breech of contract (3 days is beyond your shipping policy, and I maybe getting a refurbished product when not advertized as such). That is quite bad faith advertizing as well.
====================================================

This is the reply I got...

====================================================
Due to recent heavy demand this holiday season we are running behind, especially in the COMBO department. We are fulfilling orders on a first come first serve basis. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience as we work diligently to catch up.
====================================================

It doesn't address my concern that of getting a refurbished motherboard, and it doesn't honor my request to cancel the order.

My computer's motherboard is dead, and I need another one pronto as I got to finish a client's work and can't delay. I thought Monarch would have a better return since they're nearby, but I'm getting the royal run around.

Any advice in getting my money back -- as I don't buy refurbished parts!

Crap, and I did get 2 sticks of OCZ memory too.

If it makes you feel any better I've gotten replies like that from newegg before...

Real live people dead to the world not even bothering to "read" what you actually wrote...just copy paste form and fill in a few blanks...another "satisfied customer" to check off the list -_-

I just want my money back now, since I can't tell if that motherboard is a refurbished one -- especially when it's stock number is the same as refurbished boards.

This is the one I got on the sale/close out page (notice the warranty?)...
110322 Asus P4C800-E-Deluxe (Intel 800/533 FSB) OEM 1 $75.00
Warranty: 800746 - 60 Day Monarch / 3 Year Manufacturer Dire

And the same part being advertized now is refurbished, without any instore warranty, and NO accessories. I don't buy refurbished hardware, and if I knew it was refurbished I'd never would've bought it.

So need a refund because I can't trust Monarch to send a non-refurbished board -- especially after zero status on the order and the reply to my request to have a refund if it's not shipped today.

MonarchJoe: I want my refund, not a copy and paste nonsense.

Monarch boned me for a rebate on some OCZ So-dimm last month. They couldn't ship an in-stock item within their policy of 1-2 days, at day four I asked them to cancel as I would not get the product in time to post mark the rebate. Good old Betty at customer service says no problem consider it done. Two days later I get Fedex confirmation that they have been informed by Monarch of a pending pick up. And it just goes on and on from there.... never responded to multiple emails about making things right.

$10 lost hardly hurts, but it's the principle of the matter.

I got a Post card yesterday saying they didn't get my UPC code so thay can't give me a rebate on the ram. This is after some one from monarch said just include the OCZ logo from the cardboard insert and I sent in the entire insert.

Glad, I read this. I was going to order some OCZ ram that they have w/ a rebate. I'd rather pay tax w/ Newegg than deal with these clowns.

I'm not sure why Monarch is so big on these forums lately. They were never a second thought, years ago. Are some of the employees now posting these deals? If so, they need to fess up and buy AD space on Anandtech. Not use Anandtech as a free ride for their sales.

Monarch isn't the only one though. I do know for a fact that Dell sales people use AT to post deals. I'm sick and tired of it. Anandtech needs to start tracing the IP's. If the threads are posted using a Dell or Monarch owned IP, then ban them until they pay Anandtech for advertising.
