If you read their forums, you'll see that your situation is definitely not unique. They are constantly running way over on their custom builds, and then quite a have serious problems out of the box. And then you have to return the entire computer so Monarch can troubleshoot the problem. So you'll be without it for another 2-3 weeks.
IMO, their QC is basically non-existent. Monarch is fine for ordering parts, but I definitely would not have them build a system for me.

I'm curious as to where you are getting this from reading the forums, since they do not allow questions about order status.

Just read thru the forums and you'll see. I've been visiting them since the begining of this year and have seen a steady flow of posts about order delays and general problems with just received custom systems. They aren't normally checking the order status, they are either asking others what they should do, looking for technical help with problems, or just venting.

I ordered a 3700 San Diego/DFI NF4 SLI combo on 6/28. I am yet to receive it from Monarch in Georgia. I emailed them first time on 7/7 and they said they would be shipping in the evening. Obviously never happened. I again emailed on 7/11 and they said last night was the night! Patiently I waited till today and then I called. The girl who picked up the phone after 15 minutes of wait and two transfers back to the receptionist told me that the combo was not shipped because they wanted to make it work fantastically. Well, this BS bingo may work with some hilly-billy down there but, fact of the matter is that really infuriated me. So, I told her to ship overnight and tonight. She wanted me to email them with that request. So, I did. Now, I want to see if they really deliver or goof around again.

While I was on hold I heard the automated message telling "...we have excellent customer support and we don't send your call overseas like you know who..". Do I care to get crap from an American or an Indian or a guy from Timbaktu..it's crap all the time and it stinks.

I used to avoid newegg (for their crappy OEMs and shipping fee per product) and now, I will have to add Monarch on this list.

I will go soft on them if they overnight my package tonight and it really works "fantastically"...:)

That is directly from their website. I don't know what you mean about not having a contact number. Now you can call and complain.

It says those numbers are for calling for pre-sale questions and product requests, not order status. Still, Ill call them tonight with those numbers anways.

The PC I ordered:

Sapphire Ultimate X800XL
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego
1GB OCZ Value VX
Antec True550 PS
DFI Lan Party UT NForce4 Ultra-D
Seagate 80 GB
NEC ND-3520A/GEN 4x-DVD+R DL/16x
Thermaltake VB1000SNS Soprano ATX

And yeah, Im definetly ordering from these guys again. In fact, if I can, Im going to cancel my order.

What does your order status say on the website? I ordered an X2 and it is being built at an expected pace.

There is a user in this forum who works for them. I think his name is MonarchJoe. Maybe send him a PM and link to this thread?

Monarch is teh choice. Although their setup is Tiger Directish (pushing their pre-builts) which I really really really do not like. I also hate their combo crap.

I've had good experiences with Monarch...
Don't know why the OP's is taking so long, though. As far as not getting the quality parts you order for your build from them as one poster suggested - that is just rubbish. Just open your system case up and look inside and check. All my components are just what I ordered...

Don't expect any good replies from Monarch, if any at all. They are a furious company when it comes to customer communication.

Please, just avoid getting system builds from them, because when they choose parts, you don't know if they're genuine or not. You get what I mean?

Hey man, please elaborate.. I understand the gist of what you are saying but would you be more specific please?

my 3000+ Venice/DFI NF4 Ultra-D I ordered from them as a combo is the sh!t. It took 2 days to build and it shipped on the third day. I think theirsite says ships in 2-3 days.

The only thing I didnt like was I had to wait 2 weeks for my Far Cry DVD that was backordered. They didnt answer any of my e-mails, it just showed up at my door one day. Not even an e-mail notification saying it had shipped.

I got a great price on a CPU+Mobo, but order updates have been confusing. If they want to be respected as a good system building company, they'll need an order status system like Dell's - you can see exactly what stage of the build your PC is in, right from a web page. Non of this disorganized phone / email order update stuff.

I ordered the system in my sig from them on 8/11/04 and it shipped really fast even though I chose standard shipping. I was so excited about getting a new computer that I did call on the 7th business day and I was told that it was just packed up, and I got it 4 days later.

Well, though I've gotten good service from them, the build and shipping time is really high. I ordered from them on 07/08/05 and sent them this email today which they did promptly reply too.

"question: Order still in Phase 2 or "planning" stage, yet when ordered on system order form all parts were listed as available. I need this system quickly as my current system is unstable. According to your timetable it should ship in 8-13 business days. Is that still on track? We are on business day 6 and still in stage 2of6. Thanks"

Their answer:

"Stage 2 is when we are acquiring all of the items for your order, and additionally is the staging area for your order to enter the FIFO for systems to be built. There is honestly no real set time for the order to be in this stage. We are currently revamping our system on-line order status so the system may stay in a stage on-line for longer or shorter than advertised until it is fully finished due to our new assembly process not having all of its stages reflected on the on-line status page. As it stands currently, the system is scheduled to ship on or around 7/29 barring any unforeseen issues. If we do run into any issues with the build, you will be emailed, called, or both."

The only beef I have with them at this point is that they advertised shipping in 8-13 business days and now my system might ship on 7/29. They should not advertise quicker builds than they are capable of and then say oh well we are revamping our system so that is why it is going to be late. Pretty irked at this point. I needed that system when they said they would deliver it, not when they are going to. If I cancel then, I get penalized, I believe.

Edit: As I said before, I always get quick responses to my emails from them. They have assured me that my system will ship no later than 27 July which is the 13th business day as promised. I can't be upset if they keep that promise....

They do take a long tiem with their stuff, but they constantly upgrade shipping to make up for it somewhat. I"m currently having problems also with monarch, but I'm trying to resolve it. If it works out, I will continue to reccomend monarch as I have done in the past.

I guess I am fortunate. I ordered A64 4400+ MB combo with them at 7/8 and got them at 7/15, with free upgrade to 2nd day. That's not bad considering I am west coast and they are in GA.

I wonder if we're talking about the same Monarch Computer Systems? If its this Monarch http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv why don't you just call them? Normally much faster, more direct, and more personal then an email. Although I've never had a problem with them it is harder to dodge a phone call.

Sorry to hear you're having difficulty with them. I've dealt with them several times and they were good about emails and returning calls too. I always get my stuff promptly when I order.
