Monarch Computer- absolutely ridiculous!

Has anyone here ever ordered a custom system from Monarch? They claim to take
8-13 business days to build the damn things. I ordered mine over a month ago, and it has now been 21 business days and it still isnt done, despite all the items I selected being in stock. I have emailed them several times, but its a struggle to get a reply. My latest email has gone unanswered for 4 days now. There is also no phone number to contact them with quries regarding order status, you have to email them or fill out a form on the site. I have filled out the form last Thursday, and no response.

Is this a unique experience? Why the heck are these guys so slow? And what pisses me off is they have already charged my credit card for the computer. The parts Ive ordered are already starting to seem outdated, and I have no idea when I will finally recieve this machine. Living in Canada, I anticipated getting the machine slow but I expected the delay to be due to customs, not the assembling and testing of the machine. Anyone have any ideas how I can contact these guys and figure out what is going on?

EDIT: An employee just contacted me from his home, and it seems like we are now finally getting on track. Impression of them is getting better.

I had similar problems when ordering my cpu/mobo kit from monarch. 3 days claimed, yet they took 10 buisness days to ship the combo. But I would give them the benefit of the doubt.

This was recieved on July the 1st.
I am actually showing the system is finishing up the testing, I do show
an email was sent to you about the delay on the order. I do apologize
if
you did not receive the email. Once the system finishes testing, I
would
look for it to ship promptly. In looking at your order, I do show you
chose USPS shipping as you shipping method. I highly recommend looking
at something else, such as UPS. USPS has been taking a very long time
to
get to my Canadian customers, due to changes being enacted in customs
processing. (UPS typically take 3-5 business days, has tracking, but
has
a brokerage fee. USPS takes 3-7 days, plus customs delays, and no
tracking until 30 days have elapsed) The upfront charge for UPS is the
same as USPS.

Maybe. I want to get in touch with them and figure out what is going on, but there seems to be almost no way to communicate w/ them.

Have you tried posting in their support forum? Just as a way of communicating with them.

There's a big sticky on the support forums stating that order status questions should not be posted there.

What Monarch Computer are you talking about? The one in California or the one in Atlanta, Georgia. The one in Atlanta has phone numbers right at the top of the home page. http://www.monarchcomputer.com . This is the good one. The one in California is iffy and has been charged for software piracy.

I agree.

And if you are going to buy a prebuilt just get one from Dell. Despite what people say their computers are well built, unless you buy some $300 special.

What's the website of the California one? That's a little disturbing considering they are the same company, right?

The one in Atlanta has been good to me.

Ordered a custom 4400+ w/ DFI Lanpart SLI combo, damn thing shipped the next day even though they had just gotten the 4400+ in that same day

But really, how does this make sense? Even if he orders all the parts from monarch and knows how to build it himself(which we don't know if he does or not, is it a crime?) it shouldn't take that much longer. To build a system and install everything it might take me 4 hours max and I'm sure the people at monarch are faster than me. So maybe they need to run around and do some stuff, or they have problems, add a few days, maybe another couple for some testing they run and burn in, or what not. So he's waited 21 business days now and it's not done, is he to blame? I'm not saying monarch is bad either, but hopefully you get my point.

oskhan, when the computer arrives, can you tell us what and if there were any customs costs? Or what shipping costs were like as well? I was considering buying from monarch as well and I live in Canada but was weary of customs doubling the costs and some people told me shipping was going to be horrible on top of it all as well.

I had a great RMA experience with them. I sent them the package, and while they were testing it they emailed me like 3 or 4 times with updates, and even though it wasn't broken when they tested it they replaced it anyway. The whole process took about two weeks including shipping time. And when I ordered my combo originally it only took two or three days to arrive at my porchstep.

Hey kweiss, welcome to the AT forums.

. The one in California is ENTIRELY different from the one in Atlanta. The bad one is Monarch Technology in San Clemente, CA.

Sorry to hear about this. Sounds terrible. i ordered once from the "good" Monarch and they shipped my combo out that same day! i would just be curious of the specs of the system you ordered, if you didn't mind posting them.

They took 7 business days to ship me my memory and mobo, even though they were in stock. I had all my other pc parts in and I was just waiting 3-4 days for my monarch shipment to come in so I could start building.

Funny thing is I got some kind of fraud notice about not forward shipping merchandice to unknown addresses. I figured the reason why they took so long was to ensure that their orders being shipped out were all legit.

I haven't had a problem with Monarch. Only A+ service from them.

770-939-8886
1-800-611-0875

That is directly from their website. I don't know what you mean about not having a contact number. Now you can call and complain.

If you read their forums, you'll see that your situation is definitely not unique. They are constantly running way over on their custom builds, and then quite a have serious problems out of the box. And then you have to return the entire computer so Monarch can troubleshoot the problem. So you'll be without it for another 2-3 weeks.
IMO, their QC is basically non-existent. Monarch is fine for ordering parts, but I definitely would not have them build a system for me.

If you order from them, expect delays unless you suggested fast build/hot rush, because these customers will be in line first.

Don't expect any good replies from Monarch, if any at all. They are a furious company when it comes to customer communication.

Please, just avoid getting system builds from them, because when they choose parts, you don't know if they're genuine or not. You get what I mean?

I'm curious as to where you are getting this from reading the forums, since they do not allow questions about order status.

how does that have anything to do about order status?
