Apparently I have been assigned the duty of doing research of getting a new dryer for clothing in the house. Anyone have any idea or info for me? A good reliable place w/ fair prices? Or what brand is good or what features to look for? SHe really wants me to get it before I go back to school in a week so if anyone knows let me knwo please. Thanks. 😀

why not go to bestbuy and ask their knowledgable employees.
I am sure they can help you decide

😀

what i would do is look at the consumer reports and see which they rated the highest. those tend to be good models.

You may want to brush up on your knowledge of the "Retail Minimum Wage" language first. Different inflections of "uhhhh..." "I'm not sure" and the ever popular "it should say on the tag" can be interperted thousands of different ways.

Yup, go to sears too. We have a gas dryer, pretty sure its more efficient than electric.

dude, a dryer is like the most unsophisticated appliance known to man (right on par with stoves) and i'm sure whatever's cheapest will do.

So just goto Lowers (Good prices?) And look for maytags and whirlpools? I don't know if some of the features are real or "gimmicks". So I'm not sure what I"m looking for..?

Can't go wrong with Whirlpool or Kenmore appliances. My family has owned Whirlpool and Kenmore for the past 10 years and no complaints. Find out how much your mom wants to spend and then just look at some reviews of the appliances. Always better to buy these kinds of things locally so a Best Buy or Sears would be ideal.

Kenmore products (i think thats it) are pretty damn good quality, although they have a few less features than the higher priced brands, they get the job done and get it done well, and they cost quite a bit less than comperable ones...Sears is actually the place i'd go to check these out, and if you have a mom and pop, or at least a locally owned appliance store, you will definitely be able to get a quality opinion there

will recommend maytag but before you can buy dryer ask this question of you mom. Dose she want to have a window in the dryer or not.

umm lol is there a website that reviews appliances? APplicancetech.com? lol...

Consumer Reports does. However, you can't see the reviews for free. 🙁

We have a Maytag washer and dryer.

Our Dryer is 12 years old and the washer is a few years older than that.

Probably going to have to replace the dryer soon though if we can't fix it. Its starting to make a pretty loud noise when we use it.

My "noname" Sears brand budget dryer was a real bargain, and actually a Maytag. It's been great for years, and it's the cheapest one they had. For me I wouldn't want anything more even if I had the cash to blow, but I guess if money is no object then something higher up the line for a bit more capacity etc.

Still, Maytag or Kenmore are my bets bets. (Kenmore is just a rebadged unit anyway the last I heard, but tend to be good ones).
