I did some googling and got mixed results.

"The cheese is moldy" or "The cheese is mouldy"?

"Plastic injection molding" or "Plastic injection moulding"?

Is this a simple British vs. American spelling discrepancy? :confused:

mold is the sutff that grows on cheese, a mould is what you form something in? or is that backwards?

I used to work in a laboratory where we did analysis of molds and I have never seen it spelled mould. Then again I didn't play around with stuff very much.

Here is what I think...

Mold - Gross stuff on bread, cheese... etc.
Mould - A mould... like what they make stuff out of...

Both are correct, according to Merriam-Webster. However, since it states that "mould" is a variant of "mold", just stick with "mold".
