MOHAA Problem...

whenever is start mohaa i get this error in the console: Localization Error: MOHAA Console does not have a localization entry. this just started happening. i haven't change anything. also when i am playing single player, on the bottom i get a little box that says " slow server"

i am playing on a xp pro, xp2000, 768MBram, gf4ti4200 machine. all the latest patches for os/game/dx

any ideas?
 
Did you d/l any new maps? Sometimes bad .pk3 files will do that.

I also get that error to, but not the slow server part. It's self inflicted though and it happens (for me anyway) because of making new maps. It doesn't cause any problems though.
 
all latest patches/drivers for all hardware and software. no overclocking, all stock speeds and temps are good.

This problem just all of a sudden popped up when all was fine before?

Well the best thing I can recommend is just a reinstall. You can try running a repair from the ad/remove programs and see if that does it. If not try removing all of MOH including any save/settings files (put them to the side or something). Then reinstall.

I can't tell you if it will fix it though. What kind of router are you using and have you made any specific port configurations for MOH? I've read that certain types of routers can cause this error, but that sounds kind of weird to me. It shouldn't be the case.

If it were me I'd just take the 15 minutes to completely uninstall and reinstall.
 
again: Have you run any cheats or 3rd party mods or maps before or changed any router configurations recently? Are you running any other EA games like BF1942 or Sims or C&C Generals?

What I would do is a 100% clean install, even the registry. Here is EA's instructions on how to clean the registry and EA folder. Its meant for spearhead but you can do it for MOHAA and/or Spearhead. Be sure to move your saved preferences/game file out of the EA program folder too when you go to reinstall.

Reinstall then apply the patches. I think a clean reinstall would be your best bet. it may take days for someone at EA or MOH forums to be able to answer your question and they'd probably ask you to do this first anyways. I google'd like crazy looking for this problem and came up with only a handful of people with the problem, yet no answers on how to fix it. I also searched some MOH forums and EA.com with no luck. I know my way around MOH and it's console but I have never seen this myself.

thanks so much for the help, i will be out of town till sunday, but when i get back i will try this out. again, thanks for the help.

i tried it and it worked, but now i can't get the cheats to work. i have the correct stuff added to the "target" on the shortcut, but i keep getting the server needs to be set to set cheats 1 error when i try to add the god cheats. any ideas?? 🙁
