i got it yesterday
it's ok
id rather have moh for single player than the mp... i cant put my finger on it, but theres just something not all that fun in its mp...
i dont think the maps on it are very good... too much camping spots and are too big for the # of people usually playing... it seems like more time is spent running to get to a spot, gettin shot dead (or gettin someone else then shot dead cuz low hp's) and then having to run back after respawn.

mortars are fun, but they usually get blown up in the beginning and so it gets lost

I hope your just talking about the spearhead demo, MOHAAA original MP is the what gets played the most at every lan party I've been to.

Okay, yah I agree, wth were they thinking with that map, you could play hide and seek for hours if you wanted too.

Played over the weekend and I agree also. The map (Malta) is freaking HUGE!!

MOH AA Internet play is so freakin laggy! The gameplay is kind of disappointing to me as well, I hoped for a DoD like experience, but got Q3/UT Team DM meets WW2 instead. It is fun, when a decent server is found, but it could have been so much better. OTOH, RTCW has both decent netcode and also has some DoD like gameplay. DoD still rules though, it has superior ambience, character controls, and authenticity in gameplay.

This add on sux0r in my opinion.

1. Lag online is horrendus. Last night there was some problem with the demo, no one could play, just connect and can't move.
2. The fact that you cannot run, and fire the bazooka. This was a good inital idea to keep the Quake factor out of the game, but this just encourages camping imo.
3. Maps are huge which is fine, except that even in teamplay 7vs7 is ok, but not for the size of the maps.
4. Try to fire a mortar, and end up sniperbait everytime.
5. While trying to improve the original concept of the game, EA has dampened the "fun factor" of the game in multiplayer. We play MOHAA religiously at Lan's, I for one will not be playing spearhead.
6. Pisses me off the state that online pc games are coming to. Whatever happened to just installing the game and playing. Mods, yes are fun, but having to install patch after patch. It's like Windblows all over again. That wouldn't be so bad either, if EA, or Dice, etc. Would host the patch/update downloads, instead I'm forced to go to some mirror, and register and dig through piles of ads and crap just to get the update. This is unacceptable to me that even after you pay for the Product you are forced to go through this crap just to play.

Hehe, camping isn't an issue to me, at least not for a War based game. I want realism, or as much as can be attained and still be fun.

For those with lag in MOH Spearhead demo, try turning the delayed transaction in bios ON. I had horrendous lag in MP and I had 40 to 50 pings, turned on the delayed transaction and there is no lag anymore.

Gamespy is offering it as an instant download on their fast servers now with free accounts too.
Try it out before the demo is gone.
