Modular PSUs

The enermax, but unless you've got a crossfire system or 7900GTX SLI then you don't need anything more than a 500W at most. Probably less.

Out of those two, I'd take the Liberty. And as noted above, you probably only need the 500W version.

its your money get what you want.....500watts.....600watts.....700watts....800watts.....

Yes it is. But since most of the people who go and buy 600W PSUs do so out of ignorance maybe you could stop making like a broken record

So we both can agree that BOTH of US will stop making like a broken record???

Mine was helpful, yours was not.

Edit: I've said all i need to on this topic there's no point in dragging this into another pointless hair splitting event, feel free to reply but don't feel too hurt if it seems i ignore you 😉

*readies hatchet, takes aim at hair, swings*

They don't, it's made by seasonic and antec rebrand it 😉

It's a decent PSU. Still probably overkill for you, there's 430W and 500W versions too.

What are your specs anyway? If you do infact have a high end pair of cards, another one worth looking at is the enhance 0560g, identical to the silverstone st60f.

EDIT: Seasonic is very good, very quiet and superb reliability. It's gotta be the quality of those caps...

Yep, one of the top brands around. However you can get PSUs that are just as good for less money if you look at the other companies. Edit: Like that enhance, looks like an excellent option.

It's more of a server psu so it doesn't have the efficiancy of a seasonic, but for $102, it's a great value. Fully modular as well, not semimodular like the liberty.

current specs
a64 3500+ @ 2.5ghz
asus a8n-e ultra
xfx 6800gt
corsair xms 1gig kit

rig isnt all that great but im slowly doing upgrades to it and im starting with the psu. Going to get a new asus mobo and im going to be using sli (dont know which cards yet)

Before you go SLI remember that G80 will be around soon and the next ATI entry won't be long after. Not to mention DX-10, either way SLI and crossfire as an upgrade path is not looking good at the moment. Either way a 500W PSU is enough for 7900GT SLI, probably pushing it a bit too far for 7900GTX or Crossfire SLI but that's life.

maybe the price of a 7900gtx will drop to like $300 with G80, or maybe nvidia will up the price like they always do. If the 79050gx2 goes any lower than $500 it's a good deal.

I think Nvidia are better at timing the supply situation than ATI are, the 7800 serries supply disapeared at the same time as the 7900 coming online. Meaning that the prices on the remaining 7800s stayed stupidly high for SLI buyers (and those who don't keep up with computer current affairs). That's one advantage of not announcing the release date ahead of time and JIT stock keeping.

While ATI kept on either producing the X1800XT or didn't wait long enough for the supply to dry up before introducing the newer cards.

Bobthelost, don't bother arguing with Jedi, just like talking to oranger or whatever his name is, you might as well be banging your head on a brick wall.
