I'd like to see it changed to "Everyone's Personal Blog".
It seems that anymore the members are so dysfunctional that they can't do anything without posting about it.
I am sure next we'll have a "How do you wipe your butt" thread.
And please feel free to ban whichever tard parodies that comment.

Some do not seem to know which end is for what.

Some of the filth that gets spewed out could come from either end.

if you don't like someone posting a butt wiping or whatever thread then post in it and tell 'em so. i would.

Hey oldsmoboat, did I ever tell you about the time I woke up with a slightly parched mouth and stumbled into the kitchen to find something to drink, but ended up stubbing my toe on the corner of the wall and when I sat down to look at my toe, it was too dark so I had to turn on the lamp, but it was so bright, I had to close my eyes and then I couldn't see anything and had to wait for my eyes to adjust and when they did I saw that I had cracked the end of my toenail a bit and had to find a band-aid to try and keep it in place so it wouldn't break off and cause problems later on because I once had an uncle who did the same thing, but his toenail ended up breaking off really close to his nailbed and he got a nasty infection in it and had to have his big toe amputated so now he walks with a limp and we all kinda felt sorry for him and his new wife when they got married and he had to limp down the aisle and everyone thought it was because he was wounded in the war and they thought he was a very brave man, but my grandma had to tell them that he just lost a toe because he stubbed it really hard and that he actually left the country during the draft and was considered a coward in his hometown and had to move and start his life over and keep his shameful secret to himself, but because of her big mouth now everyone at the ceremony knows the truth and even though it's not really that big of a deal now, he was still really embarassed. They still had a rather good marriage, although they never did have kids from what I'm told, or at least I've never heard that I have any cousins or anything.

Anyway, I never did get something for my parched mouth. Can you guys suggest something to drink? Should I just go with water, or try some soda or something?

New guy/gal comes here and gets help on an intel cpu. Browses the forums. Sees butt wiping thread. Never comes back.

To not have an OFF Topic Forum would mean people would be forced to post in topical forums and thus those forums would be OFF Topic....

I agree completely olds, I hate reading crap like "what should I have for lunch", or "what should I wear today." Too many users like to use it as a form of a personal blog and it definately detracts from the value of the forum as whole. I do remember that after that big crackdown back in October, I believe it was, those type of things were stopped and for a while the quality of the forums improved a great deal.

Why I disagree with you JEDIYoda is, while I have only been here for a short while before you, I have asked many questions and have tried to find out a little background in my days here to understand how things work and how to fit in to be a productive member of the community. And, one of the topics that came up in my "research" is the purpose of the Off Topic forum. And, the answer to that question, from many elite members and members that have been here since 1999, was that it was created for topics like "What car stereo speakers are the best for this car?" type of theads, certainly not, "What music should I listen to in my car on my way to work this morning?" or any old stupid off topic threads. Now where the line of stupid is drawn for certain posts to be allowed, I am not the one to say, that is up to the Mods.

At least that is my take on it, correct or incorrect give or take a few points, I feel that getting back to that type of purpose (quality threads with serious and mature discussion, with a purpose) would certainly help the overall quality of the forum.

Over the years I've seen threads on pretty much everything, you name it.

I guess my stance, is if you don't like it, don't read it. It's not going to change, and with the huge membership we have here, it would be impossible for the mods to be all places and catch everything.
