Mods please post reasons why you lock threads in OP after you do so...

I'm not pointing to a specific thread (yet), however I've seen many threads in the past that were locked illegitimately, thus leaving many users to wonder "why this thread?" and rather than dealing with excessive PM's asking why inaddition to those who are curious, please post why. I know this is done on some posts; however, there should be a standard of consistency, so that people don't accuse the all powerful and loving mods of admin abuse.

Just leave even a short message under the OP saying "locked because of profanity", "locked because of referral link", "locked because of inappropriate content", etc.

I'm sure things will run much smoother here...
