If this was a thread about bashing gays, or blacks or muslims.. or whomever... it would have been locked ages ago...

If this had been posted in P&N... it would have lasted three pages and been locked...

I cannot for the life of me understand why someone is allow to post an insulting and instigating thread gainst people who believe in God and get away with it... now I am not against open discussion about faith and the bible... but when someone starts a thread to be rude and insulting... and it goes on for over 10 pages... I gotta ask... wtf...

This is the THIRD request here to have it locked..Threads have been locked for much less falmebait!!!

If it will not be locked, can a mod please explain why not?

that's not the point. like the OP said, if someone were to start a thread about bashing gays/lesbians, or a particular ethnic group, the thread would be locked with possibly a few vacations being handed out.

Doesn't matter who's giving it out, if it's flamebait it should be locked. Can't hold a double standard.
 
Criticizing someone race is one thing but their religion is different. Race is not a choice, but god belief is.
 
Just as there is more than one spiritual path (including rejection of any spiritual path), there is more than one Mod. I am but one Mod, and, at your behest, Karen Marie, I just read through over 100 posts in the thread.

Passions are high, but there is much of value from all sides, and a great deal of eloquence and insight. What is that quote about not living in a free society if you've never been offended? The OP seems, to me, to have spawned a thread with great depth and variety, even if his particular posting style leaves much to be desired. Moderation is as much art as it is science. Sorry for your distress, but I will not be locking the thread at this time. Perhaps another Mod will.
 
Well is anything going to be done about religious bashing in general? Or is it going to continue to be unfairly ignored by mods and freely targeted by arses?
