Dispite your appreciated help on the linksys/ipod problem that I have had I am still unsuccessful in getting epocrates to update. I attempted to post the question on Off Topic to reach a larger peer audience and got locked. Can you explain to me why this happened.

This medical database is very important to my practice of medicine and I have been unsuccessful even in asking the IT department at our hospital. Internet searches have been unsuccessfull in defining this specific problem, (remember I can usually connect to the net for most sites such as yahoo and google but not this update site.)

I am a unclear why such a question would be taboo in Off Topic, when most threads seem rather inane.

just realized that I posted this in wrong forum, please move to networking, thanks

Wi-Fi is a network, and technically, that is where such questions would best be placed. Can't answer the "Off Topic" rejection at all - that is the decision of the OT Mod.

Forum Issues is the proper place to post "why do I have to post to the proper forum!?" questions.

Off-topic is for posts that don't belong in other forums, not the place to post technical questions just because you want more people to read them.

<-- not a Mod :)
