Modifying HSF

My Cpu is running too hot!
I was wondering if anyone had any experince modifing a HSF so it directly contacted the Athlon Core (Slot A with Heatplate removed). I am interested in Globalwins, Alphas, or Taisol. I am currently using a Golden Orb Slot A cooler, so if anyone has any ideas with that one. I think i'm getting rid of it soon

many many places have direct heatsink to core guides. I know the Techzone does, and I think Athlonoc.com does too.

Bottom line, you're more likely to crack your core this way.

EDIT: I have mounted a bunch of "classic" Athlons on modded Alphas, and Arctic Circles, and never damaged the core. As long as you take your time, and are careful, you should have no problems.

One question did u use the core spacers that they are talking about?

Yes, I did use spacers for the cache chips with the modded Alphas. I came across a link that a forum member posted where a person appears to be selling HP Turbo Coolers (Arctic Circles) that he is modding for the Athlon. Check This out.
