Modify date of a picture (scanned image)?

My dad just scanned in some old pics, but the dates on them are all off (obviously). How do I set the dates so that the images stay on a timeline? Trying to view this in Picasa, so that the timeline thingy works right. Any ideas?

Did you try right-clicking on the image, and going to properties? There might be a way to change the date in that section.

you need a exif editor, if they even exist
