Too bad their shoes/boots are just cheaply-made Chinese junk.
Them too? I knew Doc Marten had started offshoring, as soon as I put on my first Chinese-made pair (before knowing they'd done that) I could immediately tell something was off. They did still hold up a good five years, a bit short of what I'd expect. They also make them in Thailand and Vietnam, I own a pair made in each location and the Vietnamese ones are closest to the originals IMO.

Red Wings ftw. My work bought me a pair for going out to the field .. made in USA and have held up extremely well. They also provide me a pension and good 401k match. There’s irony in there somewhere.

Shows what they know, I'm going to be able to retire at 45 thanks to my massive Dogecoin holdings!

(Looks at my Coinbase account)

Ummm... shit. Nevermind 🙂

wolverine boots for me, and i have tried a few. wore out maybe 10 pair of safety toe boots in my 7 years on the rigs.

also, most milenials and zers are not buying boots to do real work in. most people even. kind of like pickup trucks.

I buy combat boots. Brand doesn't matter so much as long as they're genuine issue. The only ones I've had I wasn't crazy about were Altama hot weather issue. I only got one season out of them. Might be the nature of the beast though. There wasn't much to them. I'm still wearing them, but they're patched together, and will be gone by the end of this summer.

Say what?

Millenials and Gen-Z wear boots all the time! 😉

The boots I was issued in basic training are still going strong, original speed laces even, not bad for being over twenty years old.

SOME Red Wings are made in the USA...unfortunately, not all.

Red Wing boots were my cheapo emergency "I need a pair of boots right NOW" boots when I didn't have the time to order a pair of White's or Nick's boots.

I'm really hard on boots. That's why I don't buy high end boots. Even though the soles and stuff can be rebuilt, the leather uppers get trashed. I get about two years out of the black leather boots with the scalloped soles that you probably have, and they're pretty sketchy at the two year mark. Anyone with sense would have have already gotten rid of them :^D

I mean, I was in the Air Force, so they just got used like regular people boots, for walking around and junk. I'm not traipsing about willy-nilly through the woods swinging around power tools like you 😀

White’s and Nick’s are well made. Now if they could only learn something about human anatomy and make boots that fit. I wish Scarpa would go retro and start making real hiking boots again. My Fabiano Alps lasted thirteen years of daily wear and were super comfy. They had a thin oak plank in the sole. 😀

I actually worked for Wolverine for a while. That said I love my Vasque hiking boots
