Succinctly, because Americans are morons. 10x the people died in motor vehicle crashes that year compared to the twin tower incident. We will "never forget" the terrorist attacks, but distracted driving's hazards are forgotten in an instance, and even though it is more lethal, it is not as "senseless" so we continue bad habits.

Yes, 9/11 was an accident.

It seems that every politician and public figure was in mutual agreement that 9/11 was "proof" that we needed to indoctrinate children and censor what the entertainment industry was promoting, they made it sound as if Al Qaeda is a group of teenage citizens that were influenced by the entertainment industry when in actuality it was men from A FAR AWAY COUNTRY who attacked the U.S. because we don't live under sharia law.

Where did you hear this? I've never heard this mentioned by anyone, let alone every politician and public figure. For that matter, what significant entertainment industry censorship has even occurred post-9/11, related or unrelated to the attacks?

And no, Al Qaeda did not attack the United States because we don't live under Sharia law. The major motives behind the attack were the United States' support of purportedly anti-Muslim governments and groups, the presence of American troops in Saudi Arabia, the sanctions against Iraq, and the United States' involvement in the Middle East through pro-American countries that act as its agents. The "hate our freedom" and "don't follow Sharia law" alleged motives are propaganda.

I think you are mixing up different similar issues into one. Censorship pressures have been around for a very long time, especially on the Entertainment media.

TV/Movies used to be much more censored than they are today, during the 60's/70's they were very much liberalized and that continued on.

Video Games began with little to no censorship, but by the late 90's were beginning to be censored through Ratings.

9/11 really didn't affect that issue. What it did affect is Privacy and also increased peoples suspicions of others leading to all kinds of situations that were rare before 9/11. The reason for that is pretty simple: On that day on the other side of the continent and not even a US citizen/resident I watched the live News coverage as the second plane hit the second tower. I literally was in a state of shock and awe at what I was witnessing. It was the kind of event that leaves a psychological scar.

The sad truth of the past 14 years or so is that Bin Laden won. We only killed him. However, years after the attacks he masterminded and his death we are still dealing with the aftermath of stupid decisions made in the wake of a terrible attack that killed over 3,000 U.S. citizens.

A lot of people don't remember that a large majority or at least a significant plurality of the Muslim world was horrified by the 9/11 attacks and by Bin Laden's willingness to kill 3,000 plus people who had done nothing to Islam.

Iranian students called for demonstrations in support of U.S. victims of 9/11

I was in Germany at the time and I remember watching BBC News and German news broadcast in English that showed many Muslims demonstrating in support of the victims and their families.

However, Bin Laden always claimed that the U.S. was an enemy of Islam and would invade the Middle East. Our administration at the time gladly made his words true.

It wasn't until the U.S. invaded a couple of countries. Including one that had nothing... *NOTHING* to do with the 9/11 attacks that we lost much of that initial good will in the wake of 9/11.

as Mr. Franklin said "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

OP, as I recall it wasn't so much the media that caused propaganda in the wake of 9/11 so much as it was the corporations that were part of or had ties to the Military Industrial Complex. Of course some of the media was owned in part by the M.I.C.

As for what the administration should have done in first years following the attacks.
They should have let the special forces teams in the area enact one of the plans they sent up the chain of command so they could kill Bin Laden while he was still in Afghanistan and let the inspectors in Iraq handle their business instead of giving those inspectors a deadline to get out of Iraq with their work incomplete.

I have heard that some people believe that Saddam Hussein kicked out the weapons inspectors prior to the 2003 invasion... it's not as simple as that.

out of the 500,000 iraqis that died how many of them were innocent?

None, nobody in this world is innocent. Neither did they deserve to die, dying is just what happens when your society degrades into open warfare. Its the inherent danger from allowing a worldwide cancer to grow and spread where you live.
