I am still curious as to why this makes it into the news. Little girl has a temper tantrum. Because she is so small and young, nobody puts her into her place, so she gets worse. When somebody does, everyone goes "oh, isn't that a bit extreme?". Well DUH. Its supposed to be extreme.

When I was her age, my principal had a paddle with my name of it when I got out of line. It was retired when I entered the 1st grade because the courts deemed it cruel. Damn, I wish they'd come back into style...

Unfortuantely in today's society if a teacher had tried to retstrain her then that person faces a lawsuit, along with the school, the the city, the county and the state. It's really is a no win situation. If they had cleared the room and let her throw her tantrum they they are liable for any injury she inflicts on herself as a form of neglect, likewise if they interfere and she gets hurt, then again they face penalties.

If you read the article she did inflict injuries on a teacher, now if you don't think a 5 year old can't injur you or his/herself by kicking you in the shins..I'll send one over and you can tell me afterwards how you liked it. Likewise they have other students to take into consideration not just this one person.
