modem problems

My modem a Diamond Supra Express External SUP2730 stops working after about 15 minutes. If I am trying to download something it just stops working and I must disconnect and reconnect. I don't know what to do.

Help me please thank you.

What ISP? Some ISPs are very small and choose to limit accounts to x minutes per login so others have a chance to get on. Others also set their service to disconnect if there has been no internet activity for more than x minutes. This might occur if you are composing lots of email while online or reading a long web document.

🙂

I am in Canada and am using the Sympatico ISP out of Vancouver. Now I could understand this if I had gotten a new ISP but I have been using them for years and they work fine in Windows ME but Windows XP does not seem to work.

Ahh, I see. Did you download new drivers for XP? ME was closely related to 98 but XP is closely related to 2000 (NT) so you may need new drivers. 🙂

I had a modem that would connect and work for 5 minutes and then would stop responding. Ended up replacing it to figure out that was the problem.
