Modem-On-Hold Help

I have a Best Data 56HP92-PCT Modem. It's a v. 92 modem that says it has modem-on-hold. I have call waiting, and my isp is supposedly supports v. 92. However, when somebody calls, no dialog box pops up, like it says in the instruction manual. How can I fix this?

You have to have the proper software installed. I'm not sure exactly what would happen if your ISP didn't support it, other than you just getting bumped offline, but you should still get the message box. Make sure you have the latest drivers and software installed.

I have downloaded the latest drivers from the best data website. According to the manual, the modem on hold software is built into the driver.

Support for the on-hold feature may be built into the driver but the application itself is not. (However, their driver install may install the application at the same time.)

Anyway, the application needs to be installed and running. All of the ones I've seen show up in your system task bar. If you don't have a modem application showing up down there, it is either not installed or not running.

I have a pctel chip inside, and I've heard that the modem-on-hold application just pops up when someone calls, not in the taskbar.
