I just upgraded my modem to a v.92 and for some reason it will just disconnect at random. Sometimes I'll be online 30 minutes, sometimes 2 hours. My old v.90 never seemed to do that. I don't know what is up. Did I get a bad card or what?

It may not be the card, many dialup accounts periodically drop connections that have been logged on for a while, it was one of the main reasons I got rid of dialup, I would be working on a 10meg download (a significant undertaking on 56k lol) and half way through it would just disconnect.

It HAS to be the card or the way I have it set up b/c I am on the same dialup account. When I had my old modem in, it never disconnected except after a 24 hr period. I may just put it back in.

Its also possible that the phone line wont support the faster V.92 standard but will support the V.90 ??? Maybe the little extra is the boarder line...?

Thanks for the input guys. I've concluded that it must just be that my phone line will not support this modem. Guess I'll just hook my v.90 back up and sell this one. Oh well, it didn't make a difference anyway.
