is there a way to run my HDD's as regular udma66 w/o any RAID setup? This is because I bought this card w/ intentions of putting it into another computer in about 2/3 months and want to use it in my current computer w/ 2 of my ATA66 drives... my mobo (abit bm6) only supports ata33. If there is a way please let me know how...

Thanks.

so you have it modded?

you can have the a single drive as an array, though you would not get the benefits of RAID 0 or 1.

it will pretty much work as a regular unmodded promise card.

before i did the mod, i had an 18 and 13 GB HDD on it. I got a second 18 GB, and did the mod. Now i have the 18s in an array with RAID0, and the 13 GB in an array by itself.

ok here's the deal tho, i have 2 drives currently... i dont need RAID yet so i just want to run them as regular ata66 drives off of one channel. I also dont want to reformat/partition and that is what i am worried about. If i creat an array w/ the card will it make me reformat? And yes it is already modded...

i didn't reformat or do anything to my 13 GB drive. just set it up as its own array. you would probably want to define which array you want to boot with.

backup just in case.
