I don't plan on doing too much on my latest casemod (the previous one started off great but turned into a mess when I ran out of funds and decided that a new case would be cheaper to mod than to fix what I did wrong on the old one...) but I want to add a perspex side window (no more glass!) and I am considering the placement of two extra 120mm fans (already have two, one in front and one in the rear). I want to keep the CPU fan duct as well, so it might take some fine cutting and sanding. The problem is, I don't have a dremel and I don't know where in SA to get one. The people at our local hardware stores don't even know what it is 🙁 Can anyone give me some pointers? Where I can get one, what I can use as an alternative, or so? I used an angle grinder on my previous attempt and was it not for some serious camo I applied it would have looked horrible beyond imagination :disgust: !!!
 
What was wrong with the glass? i used a 14X20 inc 1/4 inch piece of glass for my side window and couldn't be happier, sure it's heavy but it crystal clear and I can clean it with whatever I want, I had to be careful with the old acrylic when cleaning or it would get lots of swirls or scratches.
 
Thanks! I didn't know much about the topic of precision cutting before now LoL but you helped alot @ zagood.

@ roid450 the glass cracked; thats what's wrong with it. I don't mind using special cleaners for the perspex if it means having some more flexibility to guard against the odd bump.

Perspex is also a LOT easier to work with. Glass is a nightmare, to put not too fine a point on it...
 
Believe it or not, this was my previous case before I destroyed it. A good thing though; it was a cheap-ass piece of ... and caused some strange problems, solved when I switched to the new one...

Hurrah! Got a rotary tool today (called a mini grinder here, go figure...) and it looks fantastic! Cost me a whole R580,00 after I got a discount but its worth it I think. Its a 180 piece kit, even has an extension that I can use like a pen for precision work 😀 I can't wait to get my perspex (either tomorrow or Monday) and start working on a window. I'm considering another fan (+-250mm) and perhaps an AMD design on the panel, with the perspex and a CCFL or two on the inside.
