speaking of bioses, i never backed mine up and it works fine but i want to flash it back. Does anyone havea backup they made with their Newegg MBA Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb R360 core? Or know of a site to find one?

edit nevermind, I didnt know rojeack's guide had pro's listed....im blind.

ok i think i just fuxored my card using the pro bios on the rojack xt flashing guide. anyone have a bios for me? I'm typing on a spare laptop here...

edit - reflashed to xt bios and thats where im keeping it. last question, anyone know how to keep overdrive from resetting the new speeds i set for the gpu/memory using rage3dtweak?

yes

DISable Overdrive from the ControlPanel>ATI Display Settings>Overdrive Tab(in Performance options fortDefault Monitor & 9800XT Properties)

And evidently there ARE 128MB versions of the 9800XT . . . ;)

I just bought the MSI 9800 Pro that has teh R360 core. It comes with a pretty beefy heatsink but I also bought a VGA silencer rev.3 Before I go ripping the stock HS off the card, I wanted to ask if anyone else has truly noticed a huge difference in cooling with the VGA silencer of THIS PARTICULAR stock heatsink. I know the VGA sil. is much better than other heatsinks, but the MSI stock Heatsink seems pretty good.

Thoughts?

that's pretty silly. considering a new 9800xt costs at least $340, why not save yourself around $100? Flash your 9800pro to XT (2min), slap a VGA silencer on there (5min) and you have yourself a spankin 9800xt!
