I have seen several post selling or looking to buy modded XBOXes. What exactly is a modded XBOX? and how come there arnt any moded GCs or PS2s?

a modded x-box, is one that plays pirated games, not exactly legal, however it also basically turns the xbox into another computer, w/o os and just room to store more sht. what it does iirc is it allows windows to view the xbox on a network, allowing you to store stuff there. also it allows burned copies to work

There is ALOT you can do with a modded xbox. The #1 reason would probably be to play back up games, but like nourdmrolNMT1 said, you can basically turn an Xbox into a computer. You can load dos, windows (up to windows 95) or linux. Host ftp servers. Play emulators. Watch dvd movies without a dvd playback kit, watch divx movies, or play mp3 files. You can run it as a $200 media box basically. With a harddrive upgrade, you can actually put your original or backup games on the harddrive, and never have to put the game disc in the xbox again.
