Has anyone ever tried this? I don't see why it can't be done as long as the second one is formatted to only a single disk, and use it through the D:\ when ftping to your xbox.

All you need to do is not have a DVD drive, and that isn't a problem, I only own 3 games which can be put onto the second large harddrive and still offer ample space for more movies, etc.

What do you think?

Cant be done because there is 1 ide port and both slave and master are used by the dvdrom and hard drive. Where are you going to fit another hard drive in there?

Cant daisy chain them...

Why would you want to do this in the first place? 120gb not enough for you?

No money for another 120. Just have an extra 60 laying around though.

660 isn't enough for me in my main rigs though.

I think people have tried this... I'm pretty sure there's a way to do it, but it's almost useless as the Xbox refuses to address more than 137gb. Try the Xbox Scene forums for more info.

But there's not much you can do in the xbox. Store movies, mp3's, and backup files... that's about it.

When you have it modded and you have an evox (or other) dashboard installed, you can ftp to it and put extra files on, copy files from the xbox to your computer, etc.

Mine is basically used to be an ftp server as well as movie player (divx and svcd, which would be later ftp'd to the harddrive should I remove the dvd drive) and the occasional monopoly party machine.

You obviously don't have a modded one.

Does your Xbox have a modchip installed? If not then you can't upgrade the hdd in the first place.

Of course I have a modded xbox. There is no reason to buy one because the other systems out there are more fun for a smaller, lighter, equally powered system. The only benefit to have an xbox is the xbox live, which I don't, nor do I ever care to use, and to use it as I do, as a movie player, ftp server, and computer.

The different types of mods can be found online at www.xboxhacker.com or .net or something I think. There are quite a few. I'd recommend flashing your bios like I did and then selling your modchip. No need to keep it around.

Peace.

Depends. Do you feel lucky, punk? I opted out personally...

i have to small kids you figure it out :p

Yeah its worth it. $50 for 2 years is good, if it was $100 or more then no. The price will probably be around that in 2 years time.

Who cares if the other systems are smaller and lighter? You carry yours around on a belt clip or what?

the price won't be $100 in 2 years, they're already losing mone on the systems.
