modded xbox 1 ad on CL got flagged.. grr

There is nothing wrong with selling a modded xbox on CL. It has two things on it, Evolution X, and XBMC, both of which are open source. I just listed it as an XBOX with a 120 gb drive and have read the CL list of prohibited items and a modded console is not on it, yet someone keeps flagging my posting. I'm even selling it with two retail games, memory cards, and controllers/cables.

Its so frustrating how someone can hide behind the veil of the internet and flag stuff day and night and I have no recourse except to relist time and time again..

I've seen modded xbox's sold here on AT before...not sure if they still allow it. I sold my modded xbox years ago through the f/s forums here.

Material that infringes copyright, including software or other digital goods you are not authorized to sell, warez, bootlegs.

As of 2006, it is in violation of most countries' copyright law to distribute this program ready-to-run. The program, like most "homebrew" Xbox programs, is compiled using the Microsoft Xbox Development Kit (XDK). Microsoft only distributes licenses to developers, therefore the program binary (the executable file) is illegal to distribute, but legal to possess.

???

Yup, anything like that gets flagged. It's a user patrolled site, and it has to have multiple flags to be deleted. The community is telling you something, you should listen.
The "my competitor keeps flagging me" posts or the ones where the poster tries to call out "the punk that flagged my ad!" crack me up. It works the way it's supposed to.

Good to know about EVOX. When I loaded it on the system, it was legal to do (pre 2006), and I didn't know the law had changed. I edited my copy on the CL site to not mention anything except an xbox with 120 gb drive and xbmc. We'll see what happens.

Somewhat true, but in reality, not really. There is nothing stopping someone from having multiple accounts and flagging anything they don't like seeing, even if it isnt against the rules. Last year we had a guy flagging anyone trying to sell a lawnmower on CL because he had a bad experience buying one from one person on there. Therefore, due to his one bad experience, he flagged EVERYONE trying to sell a used mower. That's not how it is supposed to work, however, good luck trying to stop it. I'm convinced the CL admins do not read their email nor care about how much of the site is self run.

It takes more than one (1) person to successfully flag your ads. Try modifying your ad ...
