Mod participation in threads

A mod actively participating in a conversation got butthurt and gave a guy a warning. This is a recipe for an echo chamber.

If the mod is going to put his two cents in he should expect blowback regarding his abuse of the soapbox. He is no longer acting as a moderator but as a biased censor.

Link? Our moderators are volunteers.
They participate in conversations, and should.

Without any specifics, what is the point of this topic?

If we're just going to generalize, there's two (or more on a forum) sides to every story.

A moderator is generally not supposed to moderate in a thread where they've posted. But another mod can. If it was the same mod, please report this using the Report button. -- Moderator Ken g6
I always think thats a bit harsh now given that the forums are a lot slower and smaller than they used to be.

SO that excuses someone abusing their position? Not sayin' that is what happened but the size of a forum is 1000% irrelevant.
