That case looks like a great water cooling candidate a long as ytur not opposed to doing a little case moding

You might be able to open up the rear fan opening. There are now 140 and 180mm fans that are fairly commonly available - maybe room to cut the rear fan hole out a bit. Then you could add another Hard Drive cage to the front which would add another 120mm fan there (and/or you could change all three fans for ones like the Cooler Master Y720-DCD-25T1-GP which can move a lot more air or run at a low noise setting as needed - I have a bunch of them if you're interested in that). If your side panel is the one designed for WCing, then more fans can go there or cut it out and put one or more 250mm fan kits on the side.
. I'm tempted to say: "that's what one gets for not doing one's homework", but I may just have gotten the wrong impression... Hope you got a really good deal on that monstrosity...

got a great deal, $65.

currrently shopped for the bay alluminum fan grills to raplace all the empty bays.

any tips on cutting trhough the alluminum side/fins. its pretty thick.

Ahh, I might have been tempted at that price, but turning a case designed for WCing into an air cooled rig can be a PITA... You might want to see if you can trade with someone for an XClio WT (WindTunnel) or Tagan Monilith if you wanted to go with air cooling. Think about it before cutting.

Yes, that's the 250mm fan kit. Some are available with silver surrounds as an option if you'd rather it match the case (or a can of Fusion spray paint for plastic is an option). Cutting that extrusion may be fun, perhaps a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade (though a fine-toothed blade for wood will also cut aluminum for a while. Be sure to support the panel around the area where you are cutting to avoid bending the side panels. If you put a pair of those fans in there, all you'll need besides is some more venting so all the air can escape. Though I thought at least some of those fan kits could move substantially more air than that and had adjustable speed. It looks like there is only one make of 250mm fan out there and Crazy PC is one of the higher priced sellers. Note that there are also similar 360mm and 400mm fans out now (seen in some cases but not separately.

If you do go with the 250 mm fan kit(s). Maybe you'll want to trim the fins away around the fan opening for a flat surface to which to mount the fan and trim ring. I'd use a Dremel tool or clone to do that. Though it's pricey, a Dremel brand diamond wheel bit will help in doing that. And a Dremel would also be handy for doing touch-ups on the edges after cutting with a more brute-force tool... 😉

im thinking it would be better for a windows and 1-2 120mm fans there, funny thing is my temps are lower in the case than having the case out in the open.
 
Could someone interpret the above post for me? Sheesh - and I thought I had a pretty good grip on the language. Perhaps his chosen handle is appropriate

very hard to work with this case besides a big server box.

Reason is its too thick to cut/mod.

The side panel is hydralic. I did manage to watercool one, but it wasnt the best setup i could possibly use. I did it on a really old setup.

Overall the taichi is big, and hugh. Very unmodable cuz of how big and sturdy it is.
